I want to share about my experience to overcome procrastination by using Pomodoro techniques.

First of all lets have a small introduction of Pomodoro techniques.

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s.The technique uses a timer to break down work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks. Each interval is known as a Pomodoro, from the Italian word for ‘tomato’, after the tomato-shaped kitchen timer that Cirillo used as a university student.

Today I got up early in the morning offered my Fajr prayer and recited the Holy Quran. After doing my religious deeds I rushed towards my mobile to check new project with full excitement. Then, I opened the google classroom and saw new project. Without any delay I opened the google doc and read all the instructions of both courses and all projects. At first, I did not understand the project work then I read it again and understood 60% of it. Then, I took my laptop and started my first online course of the week. It was very interesting because we all wanted that kind of course which elaborate about time management.

Now come to the point which is about sharing my experience of time management to do productive work. During the online course I saw this activity then I decided to do the remaining part of this course according to the instructions given in the activity. After reading all the instructions, I set the Pomodoro timer(alarm) to 25 minutes and started working on the online course. In the first 15 minutes I felt some pressure because the situations looked like examination hall then I talked with myself that this is just a practice for time management then I felt relaxed and started work again and alarm rang. Then, I took 3–4 minute break drink water and again set the alarm and started working on the course. After first practice, I felt relaxed doing work in that limited time and did more and better work in that 25minutes and again took break. After two practices, I took a long break and took my breakfast and came back towards my work and then did the same procedure again.

At the end I want share about the challenges and the new things which I learnt from my todays experience. At the start I felt pressure then I thought that it is for my practice to manage the time then I felt relaxed and tried my best to learn from the technique he used to help us in managing the time. I learnt that if you fix the time for every task and arrange the tasks according to their difficulty level to make your time more productive then you did not waste your time in other activities like wasting time on scrolling and also helps you to complete every task on time. I will try my best to continue this techniques in rest of my life to complete everything on time so that I can do everything in a better way.
